Songs for children’s choir, chorus and classroom.

A trilogy of songs that explore the questions: What is a hero? What is it about them we admire? Who are your heroes?

Heroes are people who inspire, challenge, excite or entertain us. Or they may be those who help and support us. They can be our family, friend, neighbour or a world famous person we've never even met.
A hero is no braver than an ordinary person, but they are braver five minutes longer.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

1. Extraordinary Things
Explores some ideas about what makes a hero. Perhaps it's those who stand up for others and for what they believe is right and good. Whatever it is that makes them a hero in our eyes they are, after all, just people. Each of us has the potential to be a hero to someone. Sometimes it just means going ‘the extra mile’.
2. My Hero
We may not recognise that our real heroes are sometimes the people who are closest to us, such as our friends, family and neighbours. This is a song for them.
3. Our Inspiration
There are certain people who stand out as role models. They are characters who strive to make the most of life and achieve things which seem almost unattainable. World figures such as Mahatma Ghandi, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King and Aung San Suu Kyi who put themselves through great hardship to help others.
