Written for performers aged 5-12 years, this work is full of songs, drama, comedy, action and even a rap. Duration approximately 40 minutes.

Themes
Celebrates difference and explores themes of resilience, perseverance, resourcefulness, artistic endeavour, empathy, acceptance and recycling!

The Plot
The story revolves around Arlie who lives in a medieval village. The other children like to play with swords and battle axes but Arlie likes to stitch and weave and sew. When the king is captured by a dragon, and the bumbling knights fail to rescue him… Arlie has a plan of his own. With help and friendship from the plucky Princess, Arlie becomes an unlikely hero.

May be performed as a musical with choreography, staging etc. or as a stand-alone song-cycle. Suitable for singers from the age of 8. Songs are for unison and 2-part treble voices and some include a soloist.

The Story
Beginning with the rhythms and chanting that came to America with the African slaves this dynamic work leads us through the eras of jazz, swing, rock 'n' roll, disco and the hip hop of today.

Along the way reference is made to other events happening at the time. The songs are linked with a rap 'call and response' section called The Beat.

And…there are great opportunities for dancers of any age!

The young Mozart was both a genius and an ordinary child. He composed from the age of 4 and toured Europe playing to the aristocracy. He almost died from an illness and was a brother to Nannerl and son to Leopold. This work tells us about Wolfie from their perspective.
