Dance Crazy!

A song-cycle of five songs and a chant/rap that tells the story of popular music and dance.

From the rhythms that came to America with the African slaves to the hip hop of today. Along the way reference is made to other events happening at the time. The songs are linked with a chant-like 'call and response' section called The Beat.

This work is suitable for singers from age 8 and older. Some songs include a soloist and a rapper. It can be performed as a whole - but each song also works as a stand-alone piece.
Dance Crazy - songs about music and dance
Wow! Great songs and you really capture the essence of each era. Would work wonderfully for a performance.
